Fine Art & Decorative Painting magazine

It's been a long-held dream of mine to be published in this magazine. Sure, it's changed it's name a couple of times, but this is THE magazine for folk art patterns. I submitted my little princess last year, and she was accepted straight away. I'm kind of glad no-one saw me when that email came in ... I went a bit nuts LOL.

So ... watch out for it! Fine Art & Decorative Painting magazine, Vol 17 No 10 which hits the stands next month!!!

It's all happening here!

I've been super busy, but not so much with a paintbrush in my hand. I have just joined the Design Team for The Town Scrapper, in the role of Senior Scrapette! I get to make all kinds of gorgeous cards, like the one above. The challenge this month is 'Save a Tree', so I used lots of leftovers from previous projects for this one. The stamp is a Victoria Case image called 'Made with Love Lola'. You can see more gorgeous cards here.

I am teaching scrapbooking classes at Erina Scrapbook Store on the NSW Central Coast. My classes are called 'Guilt Free Scrapbooking' and we focus on ways to use your crafting powers for good instead of evil, and how to use up the stash at home to alieviate a bit of scrappers guilt. My class in July is this gorgeous cookie sheet advent calendar. You can click here for more information.

I have painted a few new things (mostly princesses) for the big Quilt & Craft show at Darling Harbour. I will be demonstrating at the FDAA stand in Hall #3 on Sunday 20 June. If you're at the show, please come and say hi!

New princess!

Last month I decided to take a day off from designing for other people, and just painted something fun for myself. This is a valentine Princess Pointy Shoes. I forgot how much fun it was painting her, so I'll be painting up quite a few pieces featuring her royal pointy-ness for the Quilt & Craft Show in June. Would love to hear suggestions for surfaces to paint her on! I'm keen to paint her on clothing :D

Flat out!

I've been neglecting my blogging. Sorry blog!

Lots is happening here. I have dreamed for 10 years of having one of my patterns included in the Fine Art & Decorative Painting magazine ... and in 2010 that dream is coming true! I submitted one of my princess pointy shoes patterns (above), and it was immediately commissioned for publication! Not sure which issue yet, but I'll keep you posted.

I am still designing for Brandcorp, in several departments including Semco, Milford and Francheville.

Watch for a new crochet book (suitable for beginners) from Milford Threads. My Mum has helped me with lots of the projects, and we're just putting the finishing touches on the text now.

Also watch for the new Francheville scrapbooking papers & embellishments in Spotlight. Yours truely has designed a gorgeous mothers day project, and there will be a project sheet.

There are also some gorgous little Easy Peasy wooden transport blank toys at Spotlight ... watch for the project sheet I made for those as well. They're really fun to paint.

Lastly, the sewing machine has been getting a workout. I'm designing sewing patterns for Australian Girl Dolls, exclusive, and especially to fit these beautiful dolls. The new limited edition doll, Matilda, also has a cute little froggy in her pocket ... I designed that too. The competition to name him recently closed, and I'm thrilled with the name of Prince that was declared winner.

2010 is going to be an interesting year! You can find me at the Quilt & Craft show at Darling Harbour in June, as well as the St Ives Heritage Markets in November and December with the FDAA.
